USCIS Raises Filing Fees for 2017


USCIS Filing Fee Increase 2017

USCIS has made what they refer to as a modest increase of 8% or $45 to the filing fees of most USCIS documents. The new fee schedule actually took effect on December 23, 2016, according to the Federal Registrar. Anything filed after that December 24, 2016, will be rejected unless it included the new filing fee.

Biometrics fee remains $85.

New Reduced Fee Process

USCIS has created a new form called the Form I-942, Request for Reduced Fee Process effective on December 23, 2016 The fee will allow for a reduced fee of $320 for naturalization applicants whose household incomes are greater than 150 percent and not more than 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. We will update the Naturalization section of the website with a detailed article on the new Form I-942 when the final version of the Form I-942 and the Form I-942 instructions are available on the USCIS website.
