ICE Arresting Green Card Applicants at USCIS Interview

WBUR NEWS Reported:
Federal immigration officers arrested five people in Lawrence on Wednesday when they showed up for scheduled appointments at a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office.
WBUR has confirmed that at least three of those arrested were beginning the process to become legal permanent residents. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says the agency had orders to detain each of the five individuals for deportation.

In Seattle it has been reported that 84 people were arrested by ICE during an Immigration Sweep. 60 of those arrested had no criminal record! (Full Story Here)

Previously there were reports of court house arrests and immigrants being taken into custody while at court on unrelated legal matters. The Trump administration is now stating that these court house arrests will continue!
This could just be the beginning as it indicates a shift in enforcement priorities and change in DHS policy regarding the apprehension and detention of immigrants.
